We fabricated this complete locomotive from start to finish. Developing the entire build with no plans, just a brainstorming session.
These little loco's are real workhorses. Reliability and serviceability were key factors across this project.
The train runs a diesel/hydraulic drive system, with all axel drive. It was a huge component of work, packaging this system and making it work effectively.
We manufactured this sheet metal body from a photograph of an original full-size 1950's DG locomotive. We blurred the lines between original DG and the functionality required for this build.
